Bio:
Orstecas began his life in Trendil, and it was obvious to his parents that he had a strong sense of justice. Sometimes, this proved annoying when they tried to explain certain rules to him (such as curfews: “You get to stay up late, why can’t I? You have to get up early for things way more important than my stuff.”), but he followed all other rules avidly and demanded the same for his brothers and anyone else. Because of this, his parents figured that he would be a natural for service to their god, Tyllar. At first, they tried monastic training, but Orstecas was inexplicably lead toward the priesthood. There weren’t any problems with the martial side of the monastery, as he kept the same fighting style (two kamas and robes), nor with the discipline, since he maintained the same, modest, and disciplined lifestyle throughout his life. Perhaps he was more enamored with the obvious displays of Tyllar’s might in divine magic than the subtlety of ki, but none of this mattered much as Orstecas took to the clergy like a fish to water.
He clearly yearned for the chance to defend his home from the terrible threat to the South, Genocise, so he joined the Ban Curaidh as soon as he was allowed to serve. Orstecas fought as well as any man during the Sinestrath invasion, the assault on the Black Hand, and the treant attack on Gwaen. However, the Genocian Invasion wiped out his family and mortally wounded him.
The thoughts that came into his mind were not like any he was used to. There was nothing certain, for the ground had been ripped from under him. All that remained were questions. Why did the Legion do this? Why did anyone seek to conquer? What was to be gained? Orstecas left the former Forest Kingdom behind, searching for answers.
After years of introspection and study of philosophy, he has found his answers. Now it was time to send it out into the world.
