Valourian Nation:

The Valourian Nation or Valoria as it is commonly known consists of 7 cities comprised up of four large towns, a massive seaport, a small desert town, and the capital city of Valouria.

_____________________________________________________________

Cities:

Anora - 'The Central City,' is located directly in the middle of the entire nation, Anora is considered to be the 'hub' of Valoria and has a mix population of all kinds of people. Anora is also a massive trading city for makes and designs of all kinds so merchants travel here from all over Valoria and even Tyran and Etaria. The architecture of the Anora is rich and detailed, extensive artwork litters the city and stain-glass windows are highly popular with the religious buildings within the city. The slums of Anora, which is the smallest section of the city, is a highly dangerous area to be, as pick pockets, and thugs enjoy hanging out and spending most of their time there.

Farheld - The name, 'Port of Eternity,' was given by a priest of Mor'tep who once looked out over the vast ocean at Farheld and said it was as if looking over eternity. Farheld holds a renaissance flavor mixed with that of bustling port busy with fishermen and other merchants traveling too and from Anora. Pirates and other sea bandits enjoy to port and rest at Farheld as it is a neutral continent and does not mind the business that they bring in. Due to this, Farheld is a fairly rowdy and rude place to be if one is new or not accustomed to such dealings.

Redbank - Often nicknamed 'Far Reach' because of its far away and extremely difficult traveling, Redbank is situated on the northeastern ridge of Valoria. Redbank holds an Arabian feel to it, which connects perfectly with its lovely dry climate, hot days, and cold nights. The city itself is a den of all sorts of people, from merchants to farmers, and guardians to thugs, they can all be found in Redbank. Runaways, fugitives, and other sorts often visit Redbank since it is such a convenient place to escape to. There is no seaport that connects Redbank to Tyran due to its rough currents that flow about twenty miles off shore and continue in breaks all the way to the seaboard.

Trahalda - Just on the boarder of the Valheln Mountains, Trahalda is a heavily gated, heavily fortified city that holds the only pathway to the capital city of Valouria. The atmosphere of Trahalda is darker then most of the other cities in Valoria; the mountains shroud Trahalda in darkness from about mid-afternoon till the next morning (because of nightfall), because of this the city does not receive many visitors since most do not enjoy such a routine. Trahalda maintains a gothic architecture and each area is very detailed and rich in flavor. There are no poor sections or bad areas to this city, as only wealthy and middleclass people can afford to live in the city and the homeless and poor are not accepted within its gates. The massive gates of Trahalda are only opened to the residents of the city, or those with permission, granted by the officials of Trahalda.

Tyril - 'Entrance to Nowhere' sits at the break of the dessert and the fertile land of Valoria. The name Tyril was given by the founder of the city, Deacon Tyril and he also nicknamed it 'Entrance to Nowhere' because of the vast nothing that lay outside the northern gate of the city leading into the desert. Tyril has a mixture of both climates, which drives a large influx of people into the city. The layout is in three sections: the religious sector, the upper sector, and the lower sector. Within the religious sector hold the government and religious buildings of Tyril. The upper sector holds the higher class and well off people of Tyril while the lower sector holds poor and struggling commoners. Tyril is noted for its high death rate in the lower sector due to a massive amount of reasons ranging from murder to sickness. Caravans that travel between Tyril and Redbank leave a few times a day, mostly at night because of the better climate of travel, however there are always those brave ones that travel in the daytime...

Undrin - The atmosphere of Undrin is very similar to that of Anora, but without the bustling crowds and merchants. Undrin maintains a strict local government that is not very tolerant of outsiders from other nations, however they are pleasant to those of Valoria. The architecture of Undrin is almost identical to Anora since the cities were founded around the same time. Undrin is for the most part, quiet, but has a few major sites such as a coliseum and a unique bathhouse. The coliseum is regularly used for competitions between man and man, or man and beast. People travel from all over to witness these daring fights, some even to the death. Due to the strictness of the city guard, thieves and bandits are rarely ever found here, for being caught is kill on sight and many rouges find that rather annoying and very risky.

Valouria - The Capital city of the Valourian nation, Valouria sits nestled high within the Valheln Mountains and is only accessibly by one path, which travels through the city of Trahalda. Not much is known about this city other then it holds the same architecture as Trahalda. The Emperor of Valoria resides in the tucked away capital within his castle. From the base of the mountains one site is seen that comes up from Valouria, a great tower looms above the city; the people that live on the mainland of Valoria have given this tower the name 'Tower of the Clouds' because it sometimes peeks above the clouds on certain days. Entrance to the Capital can only be obtained by the Emperors invite himself and those that live within the city work directly for the Emperor. While this may seem like a small number, the city is vastly populated and is the third largest city in the Valourian Nation. Valouria is the most stable city in the entire nation, it is said that Valouria could support itself alone for over fifty years.

Other Information:

Background:

The Nation of Valoria did not come into completion until about 300 years ago when it was unified. Each of the cities had been established earlier in time and has their own unique background. The unification began 400 years ago when the mountain cities of Valouria and Trahalda began a political campaign to bring together the other cities of the land. Valouria and Trahalda both had a great deal of power and a unique mystery behind, them that is still quite unsure. However after 100 years of negotiation and bartering the nation of Valoria was created. Great moral and peace has been in place ever since and is continually strengthened each day.

Government:

The Emperor, who in turn, delegates his power to a council of 5, controls Valouria. Taxes are placed upon each city of 10% of their earnings, which may seem great but each city is not hesitant to pay. These funds are used to add on to the other cities and support the large Valourian Army.

The Valourian nation as a whole is neutral, however each of the cities holds its own specific government, each internal government is similar which places them all under the Emperor of Valoria.

Anora, Farheld, and Undrin govern themselves by an elected mayor who reports to the head of the council created by the Emperor. Meetings are called every so often to hear the locals' input and how to better improve the standing and state of the city. This has proven to be a very effective way to govern these cities.

Tyril governs themselves similar however town meetings are not called, instead three officials are appointed by the mayor of Tyril. The officials meet with the mayor once a month and go over the same basics that Anora, Farheld, and Undrin go over as well.

Redbank is a bit different in its dealings, as there is a ruling family over the entire city. They are very fair on the city and it has been an effective run since its establishment. They in turn speak with the head member of the Emperors council who relays what must be done back to the Emperor himself.

Trahalda and Valouria are both directly ruled by the council who are informed directly by the Emperor.

Each city has effectively run since the unification of the entire nation some 300 years ago. Before this each city ruled independently except for Valouria and Trahalda, which always were together since the nations records reveal.

Forces:

The cities of Valoria each have their own city guard, however the entire nation is protected by the Valourian Military, which is centered at a base said to be in the Valheln Mountains. Farheld also holds a small fleet of ships that patrol the coastal waters from smugglers, invaders, and any other non-Valourian intruders.

Valouria Emperor and Council:

Valouria is unique, as an emperor unlike any other in the entire world runs it, a pure blood vampyre. This information is not known to anyone except the council that runs underneath him, and will most likely, however not impossible, not be revealed due to their complete secrecy. Rumors hint only that the emperor is that of a young man, perhaps 17 to 18 years old.

The Council of Valouria is comprised of five individuals closest to the emperor, these figures are not vampyres, as it would draw to much suspicion in politics and dealings with other nations and the surrounding cities. The five people on the council are a Master of War, Master of Religion, Master of Negotiations and Politics, Master of Treasury, and Master of Council.

Master of War: Deals with all issues surrounding the national army and each cities guard.

Master of Religion: Aids in helping each city with its own religious beliefs. Mor'tep is strongly pushed as a necessary god of worship.

Master of Negotiations and Politics: Travels between the cities and even other nations and acts as the diplomat in external affairs.

Master of Treasury: Controls finances, taxes and other funds of the nation.

Master of Council: Head of the Council and is the delegate between the other city officials of the Valourian nation.

The port of Farheld has finally appointed sailors to travel from Farheld to the far reaches of the world! New comers and travelers from all around have been arriving to see what this nation holds for them.
