Port Talboria is a small rural settlement in the south lands of Tyrania. The exact year of establishment is unknown though it is estimated to be around 200AL.

Set on a large lake, the Port was first a fishing village, consisting of a crude wooden wharf used by local farmers to fish or moor their rowboats and makeshift trawlers. Aquatic life was found to be abundant in the waters and fishing became a lucrative trade and food source in the region. As more farms sprung up on the lakeside, neighbours increased and the settlement commonly, and possibly sarcastically, referred to as a Port, grew.

The wharf was torn down and rebuilt to accommodate the growing populace and larger ships. A tavern was constructed nearby the "docks" and gradually additional buildings were fashioned from stone, namely a hostel and trade market.

One night, in the year 498AL, a small group of bandits raided the town. Crops and ships were burnt and many homes ransacked. Elderly men and women, who had spent their lives as farmers, could do little to quell the threat and hid in their homes. When the bandits reached the abode of Ernest Yonwilker, the rugged ex-pirate fought hard to protect his home and in the process killed three of the men. His conviction rallied the locals and pitchforks in hand, they chased the bandits from the town. Ernest did not go unharmed in the melee, suffering severe wounds to his chest and arms. He survived with the aide of a healer from a nearby city and a result of his massive ego, renamed the Port after himself - Port Yonwilker. Morale was low amongst the villagers after the raid, they suffered the loss of income and food sources so there was none who contested his proposal. When he choked to death four months later on a fish bone, the area returned to its original name of Port Talboria.

In the year 600AL, the Valourian Nation was formed. The Port was not included as one of the seven cities and there was much unrest amongst the local residents. Over time though, they found they benefited from the arrangement and the population further increased with many moving to the outskirts and borders of the Kingdom to escape the new taxes.

Port Talboria slowly and steadily continued to establish itself as a quiet farming and fishing centre in Tyrania.

The year 712AL saw the Port again suffer, this time from a dry and arid spell from mother nature. Significant dying off of crops and produce caused the loss of many cattle and the Port was forced to survive on its fishing trade and the meagre income it provided.

The town is predominately human farmers and fisherman. Visitors consist of those from neighbouring towns and the occasional elf passing through from the nearby Elven Forests. Situated on a lake, the water serves little other purpose to the Port. Though citizens can gain passage to the island in the middle of the lake from a fisherman setting out in the early morn, for a fee.

While growth has been, for the most part, stagnant for the past two hundreds years, farms and families continue to survive through generations of trade and succession.
